SANDRA L. MALEK
Sandy graduated with honors from UCLA (BA), USC (MA), and University of West Los Angeles School of Law (JD). She has practiced law for over twenty years. Her first profession was as a secondary school teacher, counselor and dean where she became familiar with legal issues involving education, as well as mediation of complex policy matters. She has represented major securities firms, brokers and customers on issues ranging from RICO claims, securities broker/dealer fraud, churning, and broker partnerships as well as trade secret and unfair competition claims.
Sandy has litigated such matters in both State and Federal forums, as well as through countless arbitration proceedings before the NASD, NYSE, and AAA. Sandy is an active arbitrator/Chairperson for the NASD on securities and employment issues.
In addition to her securities background, she has developed a practice involving business litigation issues including the health care industry, business startups, restaurants, and the construction trades. As with other members of the firm she has litigated and continues to represent clients on discrimination and wrongful termination matters, with a concentration on the securities industry, the insurance industry, and health care industry.
